I’ve Missed This

Years ago, sharing projects, ideas and little pieces of life here was one of my favorite parts of running Home Sweet Hawkins. Over time, the day-to-day took over, projects got busier, and this space got a little quiet. But lately, I’ve found myself wanting a place to share more again.

Instagram is wonderful for sharing a beautiful finished room or a quick peek behind the scenes, but there’s usually so much more to the story than what makes it into a caption. There are decisions behind every finished space, little details that completely changed a room, things I’ve learned along the way, and plenty of inspiration that doesn’t always have a place on social media. With the new Home Sweet Hawkins website and refreshed branding finally in place, bringing the blog back felt like the missing piece.

So, here we are. I’ll be using this space to share more of the stories behind our projects, design ideas you can actually use in your own home, favorite finds, travel inspiration, and probably a few behind-the-scenes glimpses into life as a designer and small business owner. And yes, that will occasionally include our newest addition… a puppy named Theo who has already decided every design meeting should probably include him.

More than anything, I want this to be a place where I can slow down a little and share the things I genuinely love about homes, design, and beyond. Because creating a beautiful home has never just been about choosing beautiful things. It’s about the people who live there, the stories each home tells, and all of the choices that are made to truly make a house feel like a home.

So whether you’ve followed Home Sweet Hawkins from the beginning or you just found your way here, welcome. I’m really glad you’re here.
